Finite Element Modeling

The finite element method is widely used across modern engineering. Whether the analysis involves a space shuttle or a simple fitting, accurate results depend on a representative model, the appropriate level of detail, and the correct element types. SOLIENG engineers bring extensive finite element experience and use industry-leading software to import geometry and build accurate models that produce reliable analysis results.

Static / Quasi-Static Analysis

Many complicated engineering problems can be simplified into static or quasi-static analyses while maintaining sufficient accuracy. We perform static and quasi-static analysis for systems and subsystem components, calculate resulting stresses and displacements, and provide recommendations that improve performance while increasing system and component capability.

Dynamic Analysis

SOLIENG engineers have extensive knowledge of structural dynamics and the experience required to perform dynamic analyses for systems and subsystem components. We assess modal behavior to understand dynamic stiffness properties and perform sine vibration, random vibration, and vibroacoustic analyses to identify and characterize dynamic responses and stresses throughout the system.

Thermal Stress Analysis

Temperature loading is a major design driver across engineering applications, including motor vehicle engines, high-power electrical components, aircraft, and spacecraft. We develop thermal load cases from the component’s operating environment, perform thermal stress analysis, calculate resulting stresses and displacements, and provide recommendations that improve performance and system capability.

Fatigue Analysis

Predicting the lifetime of parts under cyclic loading is essential for developing effective maintenance plans. SOLIENG engineers have performed fatigue analyses for numerous aerospace and medical implant companies, provided design recommendations, and achieved successful fatigue-test results for all analyzed components.

Buckling Analysis

Buckling occurs when the static equilibrium solution bifurcates under loading. Because buckling stability is critical in many engineering applications, we perform detailed buckling analysis for systems and subsystem components to identify instability risks, evaluate structural margins, and support safe, efficient designs.
